and Your Winners Are…… Player of the Year 2015-16

A big Thank You as always to Paul Lambert, First Team, Academy Teams and for the 1st time, Ladies Team for their continuing support of this Party.

It is our members that vote for the Player of the Year, and for the 2015-16 season it is Ben Marshall that scoops the top award. Proving to be versatile at either right wing or right back, Ben has stood out as the top player and fully deserving of his award, presented on the night by BRIDSC members Laura Marr-Dunning and Robert Howarth!

The Second award on the Night was the Clubman of the Year Award, chosen by the committee as someone that has  given great service to either BRFC or BRIDSC. We don’t like that anyone could argue that this years winner Dave Fevre is deserving of this award. Dave has been at Rovers since 1999, and is so highly regarded by players and fellow professionals. A true leader in his field. Dave received his award on the night from BRIDSC Members Craig Walsh and Ann Walsh.

The Next Award is the Bryan Douglas Young Player of the Year Award. Scott Wharton is a local lad who has made a real impact in the Youth setup this season, starting the season with the U18’s, Scott captained the team throughout a great season, reaching the semi final of the Youth Cup and playoffs of the U18 Premier League. In addition Scott made a number of appearances for the U21’s, also captaining them in the run in to the playoffs. Young BRIDSC member Logan Prince presented the award along with Mum, Joanne Prince.

The Final Award is a new addition to the award programme, the first ever Ladies Player of the Year is Lynda Shepherd, chosen by her manager as the outstanding player of the season. Lynda returned to Rovers after a brief spell away, and has been instrumental in the successes of the season, reaching the  league cup semi final, winning the Lancashire Cup Final and only missing out on the League Title at the last gasp. It has been a great season for Lynda and the whole team! The Award was presented by BRIDSC Members John and Carole Billouin.
